For the mulled wine with chili and star anise, cut the chili pepper in half lengthwise, bring to the boil once together with the orange juice, sugar and spices.

Add the tea bags and red wine and leave to infuse over a low heat for 10 minutes.

Remove the tea bags and heat the mulled wine again, but do not bring to a boil.

Remove the spices and serve the fiery mulled wine hot!
