For the mulled gin, first coarsely chop the ginger. Heat the pear juice with the ginger and spices, but do not boil. Let steep for about 25 minutes on very low heat.

Strain and pour into heatproof glasses or mugs. Add a good shot of gin to each and serve the mulled gin garnished with a cinnamon stick.
