First, cut the butter into small pieces and place in a suitable bowl together with all the remaining ingredients. Mix everything with a hand mixer until you have a smooth dough. Form a ball with your hands, wrap in plastic wrap and rest in the refrigerator for one to 120 minutes. Now divide the dough into four to six pieces, roll each out separately and cut out fun shapes with a pointed kitchen knife. This also works with pre-made templates.

Simply draw or trace the desired pattern, e.g. an animal, on parchment paper and then cut out the dough.

Place the cut-out shapes on a baking tray with parchment paper and bake in the oven at 160 °C hot air for 10 to 15 minutes (top and bottom heat extend the baking time by ten minutes).

When the place cards have cooled a little, glaze with icing. Mix half of the powdered sugar with the juice of one lemon and add elderberry juice according to the desired color intensity. This creates a light pink icing that is applied with a brush. When it has dried, mix the rest of the powdered sugar with cocoa powder and add a tiny bit of elderberry juice. Fill this amount into a piping bag and use it to write the names on the place cards.

The mixture is enough for six to eight place cards.
