Instructions:

Try this delicious cake recipe:

Boil water and sugar, add juice of one lemon and continue boiling for 10 min. Skim off foam with slotted spoon. Cool.

Grease a large gratin dish or the grease pan of the oven. Melt fat in a saucepan. Place 1 slab of yufka on the grease pan, cut any overhanging edges into small pieces to use with it. Spread the grease on the pastry sheet and continue in this way until half of the entire pastry sheet is used. Sprinkle the nuts on top.

Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Place the remaining plates on top of the nuts and brush each layer again with fat, as well as the top plate.

Using a sharp kitchen knife, cut 3 x 3 cm rectangular pieces. Place in the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden brown. Remove the pastries from the oven and while still hot, pour the cooled syrup over them. Cool and carefully cut the pre-cut squares and bring to the table.
