First peel the asparagus and cut off the ends. Cut into pieces of about 2 cm.

Bring water with a little salt, sugar and a squeeze of lemon juice to a boil and cook the asparagus pieces until tender.

Meanwhile, sweat some butter with breadcrumbs.

Strain the cooked asparagus pieces and toss them in the butter crumbs.
