A great cake recipe for any occasion:
An old, delicate family recipe from Imhoff-Stollwerck, which can bring to the table with a special feature: the cake contains no flour! Beat the butter with the sugar and the egg yolks until creamy. Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie and stir in together with the kirsch.
Whip the egg whites until stiff and fold in the salt, baking powder, sugar, almond kernels and cornstarch.
Form into a greased cake springform pan (approx. 28 cm ø) and bake in a heated oven at 180 °C for 60 minutes.
Cover the cooled cake with a chocolate glaze.
