For green Kasspatzen without flour, first mix a spaetzle dough from the ingredients (except onions and cheese) and let it rest for about 10-15 minutes.
In the meantime, heat water in a large pot. Peel and slice onions. Using a spaetzle grater, grate dough in portions into water and remove with a slotted spoon.
Place in a baking dish, sprinkle with the cheese. Bake in preheated oven until cheese is lightly browned.
