Instructions:

For the wholemeal apple pie on the tray with crumble, mix the flour with oatmeal, sugar, vanilla sugar and cinnamon. Add the egg and butter in small pieces, mix into crumbs and knead into a smooth dough. Wrap in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

Peel the apples, cut out the core and cut the apples into thin slices. Mix with the lemon juice. For the crumble, roughly chop the almonds. Mix the flour with oat flakes, almonds, sugar and salt. Add the butter and mix to form crumbles.

Preheat the oven to 180 °C top and bottom heat. Cover a baking tray with baking paper. Roll out the dough thinly and cover with the apples.

Spread the crumble on top and bake in the oven (lower rack) for about 45 minutes. If necessary, cover with baking paper in time to prevent the cake from browning too much.

Dust the wholemeal apple cake with crumble with cinnamon before serving.
