For the apple marzipan strudel, preheat the oven to 180° and remove the strudel from the refrigerator.

Peel and core the apples, cut into small slices and sprinkle with lemon juice.

Cut the marzipan into small cubes. Fry the breadcrumbs in butter. Mix the apples with the marzipan, breadcrumbs, nuts, sugar, vanilla sugar, liqueur and spices. If you like, you can also add some rum raisins.

Whip the cream until stiff. Spread the strudel dough and spread two thirds of it with filling, leaving the last third free to roll up.

Spread a layer of whipped cream over the apple filling. Brush the edges of the dough with egg white and fold the strudel dough in at the sides and roll it up.

Place with the seam side down on a baking tray lined with baking paper and brush with egg white.

Bake the apple-marzipan strudel on the middle shelf for approx. 40-45 minutes until golden brown and serve still warm sprinkled with powdered sugar.
