Beat eggs with sugar, salt and hot water until foamy. Mix flour with baking powder and stir into the egg mixture.
Pour into a greased and floured cake pan and bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack at 175 °C until light brown (about 30 minutes).
After baking, let cool upside down on a rack. Bring the milk to the boil with the whipping cream and sugar (remove 1 tablespoon of milk and sugar each), mix the pudding powder with the tablespoon of milk and sugar until smooth, add to the milk while stirring and boil thoroughly.
Remove from heat and fold in the yolks, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until cold. Spread the cold pudding smoothly on the cake base and top with the cleaned strawberries.
