For the potato-pumpkin gratin, peel and slice the potatoes. Peel the Hokkaido pumpkin, hollow it out and cut into slices. Alternate the potato and pumpkin slices in the greased baking dish and season with salt and pepper.

Preheat the oven to 200 °C top/bottom heat. Fry the bacon cubes in a pan or saucepan without adding any fat and pour over the potato slices in the baking dish.

Sprinkle the cup of whipped cream on top and cover with the grated cheese. Put the gratin in the oven for 1 hour. When the cheese is already nicely browned, switch the oven to bottom heat.

Serve the potato and pumpkin gratin in portions.
