For the pea puree, wash the split peas well, soak in cold water for 6-8 hours. Simmer in the soaking water over low heat, stirring repeatedly until they break down a bit.
Puree with a hand blender, season with the spices (be careful with the salt, as the smoked bacon is also added).
Cut the bacon into small cubes, fry in a pan until crispy, sweat a tablespoon of flour in it, add to the puree, season again, if it is too thick, pour on some soup.
