Beat egg whites with sugar until very foamy. Gradually mix in all other ingredients. Fill the mixture into a piping bag and pipe small heaps with a round nozzle onto a prepared baking tray. Sprinkle with flaked almonds and bake in a preheated oven at 165 to 175 °C for 8 to 10 until light brown. Fill the underside with buttercream, buttercream with fondant or nougat cream (see recipe) and assemble.
