For the apricot dumplings, mix all ingredients well. Chill for at least half an hour.
In the meantime, pit the apricots. Instead of the pit, place a piece of sugar cube.
With a spoon, take a portion of dough from the bowl. Press into prepared flour bowl until dough is about the size of the apricot.
Coat the apricot with it and let it steep in hot water. Do not boil the dumplings or they will fall apart.
Serve the apricot dumplings best with sugar crumbs. For the sugar crumbs, melt butter, add crumbs and lightly toast. Mix in granulated sugar.
Toss the dumplings in the sugar crumbs. A pinch of cinnamon over the finished apricot dumplings rounds off the dish perfectly.
