Try this delicious cake recipe:
1. beat butter or possibly light butter with sugar and egg yolks until creamy. Fold in almond kernels and liqueur.
2. combine flour and baking powder, stir into dough and knead heartily, then chill for about 10 min.
3. roll out the dough on a thickly floured surface to a thickness of about 1 cm, cut out “almond kernels” with small molds, also cut out diamonds with a pastry wheel.
Heat the fat. When it reaches 180 °C (test with a wooden spoon), bake the almonds in batches until brown. Remove with a slotted spoon. Drain on kitchen roll and roll in cinnamon and sugar while still hot.
