A great cake recipe for any occasion:
Knead the dough for the base, roll it out and line a greased cake springform pan (27 cm) with it.
Mix the grated apples with vanilla sugar, whipped cream, cornstarch, egg and cinnamon. Put the apple mixture on the dough form and cook for half an hour in the heated oven at 180 to 200 °C.
Prepare a mixture of sugar, almond flakes, whipped cream and melted butter and spread it evenly on the cake after the first baking time. Bake for another 30 minutes (rather longer) at 180 to 200 °C until the topping is nicely caramelized.
Tastes best fresh and still slightly warm.
Another tip: Because the cake is nice and moist, liquid drips out of even the ‘tightest’ cake pan. Therefore: Either during baking what underlay or then scrub oven *grin*.
