A great cake recipe for any occasion:
Heat honey and fat together and cool again. Beat eggs and sugar until creamy. Finely dice dates and figs. Dissolve staghorn salt and potash separately in cold coffee. Quickly mix all ingredients together. Spread the entire quantity on a well-greased baking sheet, preferably with a wet hand. Bake at 190 °C , medium rack, in about 25 to half an hour. Coat with icing while still hot. When cool, cut into small pieces. Keeps well fresh in a tin.
