Almost pulverize the vanilla pod in a mortar and beat it with milk, egg yolk and sugar over steam until the mixture becomes so creamy that you can make a clearly visible furrow through it with the handle of a wooden spoon.

Fold in the whipped cream, fill into glasses and chill.
