Peel the potatoes and cut into thin slices. Pre-cook the potatoes in steam and drain.

Preheat the stove to 200 °C.

Peel onions and cut into thin slices. Sauté the onions and smoked bacon in butter and olive oil and let them “melt” gently on low heat for 15 minutes. Cut the Chaumes cheese into small slices without removing the rind. Grease an ovenproof dish with butter and cover it with layers of potatoes/onions/bacon/cheese (chaumes as the last layer).

Cook in the oven for 30 minutes.

*The recipe on the package assumes 3 times the amount of ingredients for the cheese, however, no mass is mentioned.
