For the mashed potatoes, boil the potatoes in plenty of salted water until soft. Depending on the size about 25 minutes. Then peel them and put them into a large pot.
Add a dash of milk and the butter. Using a potato masher, mash the mixture until the desired consistency is reached.
If necessary, add more milk. Season the mashed potatoes with salt, pepper and a pinch of freshly grated nutmeg and serve as a side dish.
