Gratinated Minced Zucchini

Rinse the vegetables, trim the ends of the zucchini and cut in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds with a sharp soup spoon.

Also remove a layer of pulp so that the zucchini can be filled well. Peel the onion and garlic cloves.

Finely dice the onion. Rinse and coarsely chop the basil leaves. Make the long grain rice al dente according to package directions. Sauté the onion cubes and garlic in hot fat.

Gradually add the minced meat and sauté as well.

Season well with salt and pepper. Take out the garlic cloves. Stir in the zucchini meat and the cooked long grain rice.

Rinse the tomatoes and chop into small cubes. Mix with the basil and season with salt and pepper.

Fill the zucchini with the minced long grain rice. Fill the zucchini with the minced long grain rice in layers and press it slightly smooth.

Fill the tomato pieces into an ovenproof gratin dish and place the stuffed zucchini on top. Cover with the grated cheese. Bake for half an hour at 160 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat on the middle shelf in the heated oven.

Our tip: Zucchini are tender in taste and therefore also well suited for children.
