Clean the corn cobs (in case necessary) and cut them in half diagonally with a heavy kitchen knife. Boil the milk with water, salt, sugar and 1/5 of the butter.
Cook the corn on the cob for 35-40 minutes until the kernels separate a little. Rinse the cobs with hot water and put some sticks in them. Melt the rest of the butter and serve with the hominy.
