You can vary this soup by using more or less of the Hot Pepper Sauce. I personally like to add a little chopped scotch bonnet or habanero pepper for a little extra spiciness. Make sure you have enough beer or bottled water on hand.
Place all ingredients in a large saucepan. Cover and simmer on low for about 1 hour. Remove the meat or frutti di mare and cut into pieces. Mash the vegetables in the saucepan and add the chunks again. Keep warm until serving.
