For the dumplings, cut the dried bread into fine slices. Boil the milk and pour it hot over the bread. Fry the onion and bacon in butter and add to the bread mixture. Mix the dough with the eggs, egg yolks and hard cheese. Season the mixture with salt, pepper and a little bit of caraway.

Form dumplings with a wet soup spoon in the palms of your hands and cook them in boiling salted water for 10 minutes.
