For baklava, remove the puff pastry from the refrigerator 10 minutes before processing. Preheat the oven to 150°C. Unroll one puff pastry and lay out the bottom of a loaf pan, including the rolled baking paper, cut to size. Brush puff pastry with melted butter, sprinkle with some of the nut mixture. Depending on the size of the baking or loaf pan, repeat until all the pastry sheets or nut filling are used.
Finish with a pastry sheet, brush again with melted butter and prick the surface several times with a fork. Bake for about 40 – 45 minutes. Boil syrup of sugar, honey, cinnamon, cloves and water for about 10 minutes.
Take out the cinnamon stick and cloves and pour the still hot syrup over the baked baklava and let it sit well for a few hours. Before serving, cut baklava into slices and serve best with a Turkish mocha!
