For Greek Easter Cake first prepare a yeast dough from yeast, flour, buttermilk, oil, sugar and salt and let rise for 1 hour.

Pour 2/3 of the dough into a floured springform pan about 24 cm in diameter.

Roll out the remaining dough into 6 finger-thick strips. Place 2 strips crosswise on top of the dough in the pan, and place the remaining strips in rings in the resulting 4 segments (these amounts are for one cake).

Let dough rise for half an hour.

Brush dough with beaten egg yolk and bake Greek Easter Cake in heated oven for 30 minutes on middle rack at 200 °C.

After 15 minutes of baking, place 1 raw egg in each dough ring.
