To make the walnut thaler, knead the dough ingredients together well and form into three rolls. Mix the remaining ingredients. Roll the dough rolls well in it. Press the nut mixture down a bit. Wrap the rolls in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about an hour.
Cut slices of the dough rolls about eight millimeters thick. Place these on a baking tray lined with baking paper and reshape or flatten slightly.
Bake the walnut thalers at 190° for about ten minutes.
