Try this delicious cake recipe:

(*) For 1 gugelhupfform of 2 l capacity Peel the apples, cut them in half and remove the core. Score the convex side so that the apple halves do not fall apart. Pour 2/3 of the honey into a baking dish, place the apple halves with the notched bulge in the honey and drizzle with the remaining honey. Meanwhile, bake in the middle of the oven heated to 180 °C for 30 minutes.

Turn down the heat to 160 °C. Grease the cake pan well with butter.

Cream the remaining butter with raw sugar. Add sour eggs, half cream, almond kernels, baking powder, half-white flour, cinnamon and salt and mix until smooth.

Place the baked apples diagonally on the bottom of the gugelhupfform and press a little bit smooth with a spoon. Pour the remaining honey from the baking dish and pour in the dough. Bake the cake at 160 °C for 50 min.

Cool for ten minutes in the mold, then turn out and enjoy preferably lukewarm.
