Cut pumpkin into small cubes and steam with a little water and butter until soft. Once the liquid is completely boiled down, crush the pumpkin. Season with salt and freshly ground pepper. Rinse and peel the potatoes, add salted water and boil until soft, drain and steam. Then grind.

Add the whole cream and the remaining butter together with the pumpkin puree and the chopped seeds. Add the mashed potatoes, mix, season with salt and freshly ground pepper to taste. Serve on warmed plates or in a platter as a side dish.

Sprinkle with butter flakes and gratinate!
