Instructions:

For the custard sticks, mix milk and hot water. Add sugar and yeast and mix. Put 400 g sifted flour into a mixing bowl, add the dissolved yeast and knead into a smooth dough.

Let rise in a warm place for about 20 minutes. Put the remaining flour, eggs and egg yolks, salt and vanilla sugar in a mixing bowl, add the yeast dough. Knead well, then incorporate the butter piece by piece.

Let the dough rise for another 30 minutes. Meanwhile, for the filling, prepare pudding from 1/2 l milk and 2 pkg. pudding powder and let it cool down a bit.

Then cut the dough into pieces and roll out as elongated like a tongue (oval) (about 10 x 5, about 2 mm thin). Cut 4x on one half and put a thick blob of custard on the other half.

Roll up into sticks, brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with flaked almonds. Let rise again and bake at 200 °C for about 15-20 minutes.
