A great cake recipe for any occasion:
Shortcrust pastry: quickly knead together flour, cinnamon, cold butter in sugar, egg yolks, flakes, vanilla sugar and rum baking until smooth. Flatten slightly, wrap in plastic wrap, refrigerate for 60 min. Roll out chilled shortcrust pastry in portions between two layers of cling film to a thickness of about 0.5 cm. Cut out circles (Â 3 and 5 cm) for the snowmen. Use special cookie cutters for the fir trees. Preheat the oven to 175 °C. Line two baking sheets with baking parchment. Place dough circles on one baking sheet, overlapping the smaller circle a little on top of the larger one, pressing down lightly. Place fir trees on the second baking sheet. Bake cookies for about 10 min. Cool on a cake mat.
Decoration: Knead marzipan paste with 100 g powdered sugar. Color half with red food coloring. Remove about one third of the other half. For the snowman noses, color orange with red and yellow dye. Shape noses. Color remaining marzipan for snowman hats brown with cocoa. Roll out red and brown marzipan between two layers of plastic wrap to about 0.5 cm thick.
Cut out red scarves and brown hats. Stir 350 g powdered sugar with egg white and rum to a smooth icing. Color about half of it green with food coloring. Paint the snowmen with white icing. Stick currants on the spot as eyes and buttons. Add a few sh
