Make peeled, diced potatoes in salted water, drain, steam and press hot through the press. Add nutmeg, pepper, egg yolk, 50 g butter and 100 g old Gouda cheese. Grease a ring mold with butter, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and put half of the potato dough in it, press well and flatten.
Mix ham cubes with 50 g of old Gouda, spread evenly on the dough, press smooth and put remaining dough on top. Also press firmly and smooth down.
Bake at 180 degrees in a heated oven for 45 minutes, turn out the ring, sprinkle with medium-aged Gouda and let the cheese melt under the broiler.
For example, a spicy endive salad with radishes or similar salads taste great with this.
