For the apple meringue slice, peel the apples and cut them into small pieces. Sauté them with lemon juice in a saucepan.
Separate the eggs. Beat egg yolks, powdered sugar and butter until foamy, stir in yogurt. Mix flour with baking powder and stir into the egg mixture.
Spread the batter evenly on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Puree the cooled apples with a blender and spread on the dough and bake at 180 °C for about 30 minutes.
Beat egg whites with powdered sugar and vanilla sugar until stiff. Stir in the cornflour. Spread the beaten egg whites on the cake and sprinkle with flaked almonds. Bake for another 15 – 20 minutes.
Once cooled, cut the apple meringue slice into pieces and serve.
