For the short pastry for fruit cake cut butter into small cubes and crumble with the flour. Add sugar, egg, baking powder and a little sour cream or milk and knead to form a firm dough.

Flatten, place on a baking sheet and pull up the edges a little. Cover with fruit and bake the short pastry at 220°C in a preheated oven for about 20 minutes.
