Clean and dice the onions and peppers. Remove the skin from the garlic and crush it. Heat oil in a cast-iron saucepan and sauté diced onions until light. Add sauerkraut, garlic, paprika cubes and powder, bacon, clear soup and caraway seeds and cook at low temperature for about 60 minutes. Then cut the bacon into slices and add to the dish. Season to taste with a little salt. As a side dish, mashed potatoes go exceptionally well.
