Cut open the dates with the stone on one long side and remove the stone. Cut the chili lengthwise, clean, remove the seeds, rinse and chop very finely. Rinse thyme, shake dry, pluck off leaves. Put some leaves aside. Chop the rest very finely, as well as the pistachios. 2.
Knead the marzipan with the orange liqueur, chili, chopped thyme and pistachios thoroughly and divide into 20 pieces. Form the pieces into oblong rolls and fill each into 1 date. Garnish with remaining thyme leaves. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Tip: If you have a hand mixer and want to cook a larger mass, you can whisk the thyme, chili, marzipan and liqueur together just as finely.
