A great cake recipe for any occasion:
For the dough, chop peanut kernels (1). Knead together salt, peanuts, flour, cold margerine in pieces, egg and sour cream. Form into a ball with your hands, wrap in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or possibly in a cold place.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the dough on a floured work surface to a thickness of about 3 mm. Cut out flowers, circles or other shapes and place them on the tray.
Mix egg yolk with water. Brush the cakes with the mixture. Cut the peanut kernels (2) in half and cover the cookies with them or decorate them with flowers.
Bake in a heated oven at 225 °C (gas mark 4) for about 12 to 15 minutes until the cookies are lightly browned.
Remove peanut cookies from the baking sheet on the spot after baking and cool on a cooling rack.
