For the plum jam, puree the pitted plums in a high saucepan with a hand blender, stir in the preserving sugar, bring to a boil and cook for at least 3 minutes, stirring constantly.

Then transfer to canning jars, screw lids on and turn upside down for 5 minutes. Then turn upside down again and leave to cool.
