For the pear and poppy seed cake, first separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff. Mix egg yolks and powdered sugar until foamy. Add poppy seed oil and egg liqueur – continue mixing.

Mix in flour and rum. Carefully fold in beaten egg white. Cut the pears into slices and place on top of the dough. Bake at 170 °C.
