For the dough:


For the hazelnut stars, first mix the flour and baking powder and heap on the work surface. Make an indentation in the center and add the remaining ingredients. Knead into a smooth dough. Form into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Preheat the oven to 190 °C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.

Roll out the dough thinly on the floured work surface and cut out stars. Brush half of the cookies with the beaten egg yolk and top with the hazelnut halves.

Bake all the cookies for about 15 minutes and then let them cool.

Spread the hazelnut cream on the hazelnut stars without the hazelnut halves and stick them together with the other cookies. The hazelnut halves should face upwards.
