When it comes to baking, snacking is the biggest treat for kids. But if the raw dough stays longer in the warm kitchen, salmonella can develop. Therefore, use only fresh eggs (with the band “separate”) and always take the dough out of the refrigerator in portions. Or use an egg-free dough like this one:
Knead all ingredients together into a smooth dough. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. Preheat oven to 180 °C. Grease the baking tray and dust with flour (some prefer parchment paper). Remove as much dough as you want to roll out from the refrigerator, chill the rest further. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 cm thick, cut out cookies and place on the prepared tray. Mix the egg yolks with 1 tbsp water, brush the cookies with it, decorate with nuts and sugar stuff. Bake the cookies in the hot stove for about 13 min. until golden brown.
