For the granola, mix rolled oats, grains and seeds (sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds or sesame seeds), nuts and salt. Add oil and maple syrup and – if desired – refine with spices.
Mix everything well and spread on a baking tray. Leave everything in the oven at 150 degrees for about 45 minutes, turning in between if necessary, until everything is baked golden brown.
Allow granola to cool and add optional ingredients.
