Finely dice bacon and onions. Fry bacon with 1 tbsp. oil in a frying pan for about four minutes. Add spring onions and kitchen herbs, cool.
Mix quarkk, left over oil, buttermilk and salt.
Mix flour and baking powder, knead with the curd mixture, then add the bacon and culinary herbs mixture.
Arrange three 300 mm long rolls and braid into a plait. Glue the ends together with egg white. Mix egg yolk and cow’s milk, brush the braid with it.
Bake in a heated oven at 180 degrees Celsius on the lowest rack for 35 minutes.
Our tip: As an alternative to fresh herbs, you can also use frozen ones – these are also characterized by a fresh taste!
