A simple but delicious cake recipe:

Peel onions and cut into tender strips (half rings). Sauté in butter.

Defrost puff pastry and spread evenly on a greased baking sheet. Mix the sautéed onions with eggs, sour cream or crème fraiche, whipped cream and grated cheese. Mix cheese (maybe add ham). Season with salt, pepper and freshly grated muscatel, add caraway seeds. Spread the onion mixture evenly on the puff pastry.

Bake in a heated oven at 200 °C for about 1 hour.

It is best served with Federweisser wine.
