For the goulash soup, cut the onions and peppers into strips.
Cut potatoes and carrots into cubes. Brown meat in olive oil, add onions, sprinkle paprika powder and stew briefly.
Add paprika cubes, water, spices and tomatoes and steam repeatedly for a short time. Pour remaining water, add diced potatoes and carrots and let simmer for 60 minutes. Finish with crème fraîche or whipped cream, if desired.
Serve hot.
