Instructions:

For the apple pie with spelt, preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a baking tray or line it with baking paper. For the dough, beat the yolks with sugar, yogurt and softened butter until foamy. Mix flour with baking powder and stir in. Spread the dough on the baking tray. Peel and core the apples and cut into wedges. Sprinkle the apple wedges with lemon juice and spread evenly on the dough. Bake the cake for about 30 minutes at 180°C degrees.

For the meringue, beat the egg whites with 2 tablespoons of cold water and 1 pinch of salt until stiff. Add the sugar and vanilla sugar and continue beating for one minute. Remove the cake from the oven and sprinkle with the chopped nuts. Then spread the meringue mixture over the cake and finish baking for another 15 minutes until the meringue is a little golden brown on top. Finally, sprinkle the apple pie with spelt with the remaining nuts.
