Mix sugar, salt, vinegar and pepper. When the sugar and salt have dissolved, add the oil.

Coarsely chop the walnuts. Rinse the grapes, pluck them from the stems, cut them in half and remove the seeds. Clean mushrooms, provided that necessary with a pastry brush and cut into slices. Mix everything with the marinade in a baking dish and refrigerate for about half an hour with the lid closed. Before serving, sprinkle with chives.
